The  Mk1A was fitted to the Matilda II, the 1B was

fitted to the Valentine, the Mk 1C as here to the

Covenanter and the Mk 1 D to the Crusader.  Only

the A was used operationally, in the Middle East

The Churchill 3-inch Gun Carrier, KCB-28, would

 have been a powerful vehicle for its time, but

 never saw service, not least due to disputes as to

 who should use it.
